Homecoming Memories

Continued Memories:

Favorite Moments:

- In the morning, my Senior class got together and our mini-drumline led us in a parade around the school. The Juniors also went on parade at this time, and we both ended in the same spot. Tensions were flaring, when suddenly, our DJ put on Party in the USA, and suddenly, everyone stopped what they were doing and started dancing.

I don't mean just the girls and a handful of gay guys. I mean everyone. Juniors and Seniors held an impromptu dance party on the lawn. Frankly, I'm impressed with Miley Cyrus's ability to defuse a tense situation. She can't sing, but she can bring people together, so props to her.

- After we lost the tug-of-war against the Sophomores and the Freshman to come in dead-last, instead of despairing, my class suddenly began cheering. We cheered and our drumline struck up a beat and we marched about and still acted as though we were kings, because, let's face it, we are. Also, the Kindergarten came to cheer for us, and they all were wearing red headbands that they had made. They chanted “Go Red!” It was adorable.

P.S. We lose the tug-of-war because my class has 80 students in it, and the other classes have 100-120 students. That 25% to 50% more than us. The senior class before us also lost because they too had only 80 students.

I realize now that my class is the best class at decorating that my school has seen. We even outdid the Seniors last year, and we were limited to a certain area.

Here is the list of firsts that my class pioneered:

First class to
1) have a DJ
2) have a Moon Bounce
3) use Saran wrap (worked amazingly well)
4) use 1500 balloons (I earlier wrote, 1000, but I was wrong, it was 1500)
5) have a special post for every Senior (X-Factor)
6) make a balloon arch
7) use table cloths (works well as streamers)
8) replace every expo marker with a red one that says “Seniors 2010” on it
9) use cups in a fence to write things
10) decorate cars
11) decorate the desks
12) arrange the desks
13) decorate every window
14) sleepover at school in order to keep working (a classmate has a home on campus because her father is a teacher)
15) get sunglasses and other accessories to go along with the shirts
16) put banners on the bathrooms
17) put banners in every part of the school
18) cover the clocks

Wow, that some effort you guys put into all that! Congrats!! Now, where are the pics?!

It's quite cute that the kindergartners came by and cheered you on. ^_^

Why does the senior class have so much fewer students than the other classes? Do people randomly drop out between junior and senior year?
